3rd ANNUAL ARTIST AT WORK STUDIO TOUR

IN THE TRI-LAKES AREA OF THE BEAUTIFUL ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS OF NORTHERN NEW YORK

Welcome! to the Third Annual Artist at Work Studio Tour featuring artists who work and live in the Tri-Lakes area of the Adirondack Park - Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid and surrounding communities. 34+ artists will be showing and selling their works at locations across the region. See first-hand how a painting or a pastel begins, observe the process of photography with and without the darkroom, watch a blacksmith. You will get to hear the whir of the potter's wheel, the thunk of the weaver's loom and even meet the sheep who produce the wool for woven tapestries.

Studio Tour Central is the Adirondack Artists' Guild Art Gallery, 52 Main Street, Saranac Lake, 518-891-2615. If you have any questions or need any help during the tour weekend you can stop in and visit the Guild Art Gallery where you will meet member artists who can direct you around the area. Artist Studio Guides, complete with examples and descriptions of each artists' work, maps and directions, are available at all of our sponsors as well as the studio locations.

The three day tour is for you to design - maps are available online and in the Artist Studio Guide. Visit a different vicinity each day. Check the studio descriptions to make sure the studios you are planning to visit are open that day. Enjoy the fall colors!

Think Green while visiting studios located in the Village of Saranac Lake. Several are within walking distance of each other. Take advantage of their proximity to each other while enjoying the Adirondack style architecture and home-town ambiance of the village.

Remember that many of the spaces are in the artist's home and private workspace. Please enter with care and respect their space. During the remainder of the year, retail gallery/studios usually have regular business hours. Individual artist welcome visitors by appointment only.
